Robert Semple - President of the national convention

Proud to receive OBE in Queen’s Birthday Honours

Robert Semple, says he’s very proud to have received an OBE in this year’s Queen’s Birthday Honours List. The long time party activist and Chair of last year’s Conservative Party Conference in Birmingham says the honour recognises many years of hard work in the voluntary party both here in Yorkshire and across the country.

“I’m delighted,” says Robert who started his political career as a researcher at Westminster in 1994. “It’s been a privilege to ensure that the northern voice is heard in the Conservative Party when key decisions are made. In the recent General Election it was crucial that the Party won here in the North and I’m proud to have played a key part in the success we had.”

One of those successful candidates, Morley and Outwood MP Andrea Jenkyns says:

“I have known Rob for over three years and he has always offered tremendous support to me personally. I know that he has a true passion and desire to make a difference in the party and be a voice for the voluntary sector.”
